Dr. Caroline Brinkley will offer the class “Menopause and Hormones: Beyond Premarin” from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight, June 11, at Vashon Family Practice. The class is intended to help women understand the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy and alternative treatments. It is the final class in a free health series the clinic has offered this spring.

The Vashon Island Golf & Country Club pool offers public water aerobics classes from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Country Club members pay $4, non-members pay $5.
The classes have begun and will continue through September. The classes are done to music at all levels of ability and intensity in both shallow and deep water.

Nature Therapy Camp for children with autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) will meet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 6 and 20, July 11 and 25 and Aug. 1 and 15.
This unique nature camp is designed to immerse kids with autism and ADHD in the natural world. Magnifying glasses, binoculars, bug boxes and art supplies encourage children to interact with nature. Naturalists guide the students to find their own unique way of expressing themselves in nature. Camp includes free-form musical jams where everyone participates in making music. Empowering the individual while creating a connection to the group is paramount.
All camp days are facilitated by registered nature therapy counselor Erin Kenny and naturalist Robin Rogers and have a 2:1 student to teacher ratio.

A free “Laugh for Compassion” class will meet from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Island Yoga Center.

Kelsey Kozak will offer her class, “Cheesemak-ing: From Cow to Curd,” at 10 a.m. Monday, June 16, and Sunday, June 22.
Students will hand-milk a Jersey cow and make yogurt, butter, mozzarella, cheddar and other cheeses. Each participant will take home butter and cheese samples and enjoy a dairy feast for lunch.
Each class will last five to six hours.

Dance the Samba, and drum with RhythmJoy in the Strawberry Festival Parade.
A four-week Afro-Brazilian dance class session will meet from 7:30 to 9 p.m. starting Wednesday, June 18.

Learn to play the hottest rhythms from Vashon master drummer Geoff Johns.
No experience is necessary for either class; beginners are welcome, and instruments are provided. The cost is $64 for the four-week sessions.
