Tomatoes take the prize

The Vashon Farmers Market hosted the annual Tomato Taste-Off on Saturday, Aug. 23. Shoppers tasted more than 20 varieties of Island-grown tomatoes and chose their favorites in four different categories.The winners include, from left to right, Mira Jewell-Peterson, Rose Jewell-Peterson, Rob Peterson, (Plum Forest Farm), Leda Langley, (Langley Fine Gardens), Joe Meier and Mary Robinson (accepting for Michelle Crawford of Pacific Potager).
