A “Laugh for the Health of It” class will meet from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at the Island Yoga Center at Thriftway Plaza. The class is free, and all are welcome.
Weslie Rodgers, certified laughter yoga leader, will teach the class. Call her at 463-5566.
Beginning Spanish classes will be offered in the new year. Classes will meet once a week with an option for additional sessions.
The cost is $30 per 90-minute class. Teacher Brenda Howald has lived in Mexico, worked as a bi-lingual aide in the Seattle schools and teaches English as a Second Language.
The class will be offered at a central Island location and can be scheduled to accommodate new students.

A series of eight folk dance classes, taught by Martin Koenig and sponsored by the Vashon Folk-dancers, will be held on consecutive Monday evenings between 7 and 9 p.m. at Havurat Ee Shalom starting Jan. 5 and ending Feb. 23.
The dances to be taught will include the simple and well known, as well as the more esoteric, to give the student a solid repertoire of Balkan line and circle dances.
Fees for the class series are individuals $80 and students $40.
High school students are encouraged to register for the class.
