Island performer and impressario Kevin Joyce will headline an evening of monologues, original songs and musical improvisations at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Lelavision Studio.
Lelavision artists Ela Lamblin and Leah Mann will also join Joyce onstage for what Mann called “collaborative inventions.”
She also promised that the evening would include other appearances by surprise guests.
Joyce has lived on Vashon for 20 years, building a career that has including co-founding UMO Ensemble, Islewilde and EnJoy Productions, as well as performing with Teatro Zinzanni and the TV variety show Big Night Out.
Admission to the show is $15 or “pay what you can.” Reservations are required, and directions to the studio will be provided upon reservation — e-mail lela@lelavision.com or call 463-9548.
Half of the proceeds from the event will go to Camino Seguro School in Guatemala City, an institution that serves children and families that live within the borders of one of the largest municipal dumps in the world.
Holiday gift items, donated from Minglement, Mandala Designworks and Lumina Fused Glass, will also be for sale. The proceeds of the sale will also go to the students at the school.
