Local guitarist plays a show

March 6, 2012 · Updated 10:59 AM

Island guitarist and teacher Ken Jacobsen will perform a solo classical guitar concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Vashon Island Music’s upstairs studio space.

He’ll play music by Granados, Chopin and others from the classical guitar canon, and he’s also planning to throw in some flamenco and modern guitar music. He’ll also share the stage with several of his young guitar students.

Jacobsen has a bachelor’s degree in classical guitar performance and has taught freelance and with various music schools for almost 20 years. He’s performed almost every style of music, from classical to rock and beyond, including blues, jazz, finger style and more.

A limited number of tickets, $10 for adults and $5 for students, are on sale now at Vashon Island Music.
