Local artist Suzanna Leigh will open an exhibition of more than 50 of her paintings on silk at 7 p.m. Friday, at Vashon Community Care. Leigh’s passion for painting on silk was sparked by her exposure to the artist Phan Nguyen Barker and a month she spent in the silk producing region of China. A reception for her show will include refreshments, a slide show and an interactive talk by Leigh featuring stories about some of her paintings. She’ll also offer an opportunity for audience members to share some of their own. Her show will be on display through December.
