The 23rd annual Vashon Allied Arts Community Quilt is a tribute to the postcard-perfect views of Vashon Island.

The quit features 16 “wish you were here” moments, captured by quilters including Angela Weiss, Joanna Guglielmino, Carrie Sikorski, Nancy Sipple, Toni Eaton, Eileen Bergman, Sy Novak, Sharon Munger, Chris McGrath, Karen Pruett, Nan Caskey, Cyna Brandt, Mary Belshaw, Annie Miksch and Pat Stougard.

The quilt was inspired by Vashon-Maury Island vistas, including ferry boats, sunsets, the Village Green and the Point Robinson lighthouse.

Quilter Pat Stougard said inspiration for her panel was easy to find.

“My backyard has all that’s wonderful about Vashon — flowers, animals, birds, fruit trees, gardens and the water with boats and herons sailing by,” she said. “What better postcard of Vashon could there be?”

Raffle tickets for the quilt cost $1 and are sold at the Blue Heron Art Center and at Strawberry Festival. The annual quilt raffle is a benefit for Vashon Allied Arts (VAA).
