Dusty 45’s

The Dusty 45’s, a group that includes some of Seattle’s top roots-rockabilly musicians, will take the stage at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Red Bicycle Bistro & Sushi.

Organizers said the band’s music ranges from honky-tonk to jump blues to rock and roll, with songs built on soulful, harmonic vocals and a back beat of upright bass, drums and rhythm guitar. A mariachi trumpet completes the band’s signature sound.

The band has appeared with acts such as LeAnn Rimes, Margaret Cho, Wayne Brady, Dick Dale, The Ventures and BR-549. The Dusty 45’s were also honored to recently perform for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

There is a $5 cover charge for the show, which is for ages 21 and older.

New World Shambolics

The New World Shambolics will play a free all-ages show at the Bike from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19.

The band plays surf and rock instrumentals from the golden age of the 1950s and ’60s.

Organizer Pete Welch said that the nine-member Vashon ensemble “parlays reverb-soaked guitar stylings, tribal drumming and rumbling bass lines with a powerful horn section, eclectic percussion and a rockin’ keyboard.”

He added that the band’s music is “highly danceable.”
