A delicious night of poetry at Café Luna
November 18, 2008 · Updated 12:07 PM
Poetry aficionados will gather at Café Luna this week to share new work and explore a topic that is particularly relevant to the month of November.
All things edible, and other musings on the subject of food, will be the theme of the poetry open mic scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Café Luna.
Organizers are hoping the night will include poems about a wide range of gastronomic experiences and visions about how, why and what we eat.
Any type of poetry is welcome — poets can read original works or those by any other poet. Another possibility for poets is to follow the open mic challenge to write and read a new poem that incorporates eight specially chosen words. This month’s words are all about food — toast, serve, feast, stew, gobble, whip, tart and sliver.
Early open mic time slots are reserved for the Island’s youngest writers. Visit cafelunavashon.com for information.
