Two local bands will play shows at Café Luna over Thanksgiving weekend. Both performances are free.
At 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, the country rock and folk ensemble 5:01 will perform.
The band describes its music as “easy to tap your toe to,” with lyrics ranging from true love and humor to political commentary.
Band members include Jack Barbash on piano, Doug Ringer on bass, Luke McQuillin on electric guitar and Mark Wells on vocals and acoustic guitar and Geordan Mitchell on drums and percussion.
At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, Riverbend will take the stage at Café Luna.
Riverbend’s members include Chuck Roehm, Paul Colwell, Peter Larsen, Shelly Frankel and Dave Lang.
With instrumentation ranging from guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, accordion, harmonica, autoharp and upright bass, and songs running the gamut from old-time country favorites to folk songs, cajun, rock and original songs, RiverBend performances promise to cover a broad musical terrain.
