The Red Bicycle Bistro will be the scene of a murder mystery dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 4. The event is billed as “Chocolate Lover’s Die-Lite, a Murder ‘n’ Mayhem Murder Mystery Dinner.”

In this style of party, attendees participate fully by becoming a character, suspect and maybe even the killer.

People won’t get bored watching someone else have the fun or get stuck reading from a sheet of paper. Instead, each is given a character description, some “mayhem money” for bribery and blackmail, secrets about their character and a little dirt on the other characters in the mystery.

A description of the event tempts with desserts and chocolate diamonds.

“You have been invited to Hotel Chocolate for the Grand Opening of their new dining room, Sweet Temptations,” it reads. “The reviews for this new restaurant read, ‘Sinful, decadent and totally irresistible! Delight your senses with these temptations that are impossible to refuse.’ The cuisine features gourmet selections of the finest entrées, exquisite chocolate desserts and impeccable service. Not only do they feature the finest food and chocolate, but in celebration of their Grand Opening they will have on display a rare chocolate diamond collection valued at over $5 million dollars.”

The mystery dinner costs $33 per person plus tax and tip. For more information or to make a reservation, call 463-5959. Reservations must be received by Monday, May 25.
