Dancers of all ages will take to the stage this weekend in “Snow White,” put on by the Vashon Dance Academy and Dance!Vashon.

As is typical in any Vashon Dance Academy performance, many liberties are taken with the story — in this case, there are fairies instead of dwarfs, and even the truth-telling mirror on the wall comes to life. The show is laced with both grace and humor, testament to the hard work and creativity on the part of the school’s many dancers and some guests to the show, including the annual dancing dads, who have been practicing for months.

Performances typically sell out, so early ticket purchases are recommended. Tickets are on sale at Books by the Way and are $12 for adults and $10 for kids up to age 18.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 29; 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 30; and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 31. All shows will be at the Vashon High School theater.
