There will be a reading, signing and performance at 7 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Vashon Bookshop, to celebrate the publication of Islander John Dally’s new book, “The Northwest Collection of Music for the Scottish Highland Bagpipe.” The 163-page book, a collection of photographs and essays, includes a history of piping on Vashon during the past 40 years. The book also contains sheet music for 140 tunes suitable for pipes, fiddle and other melody instruments.
