The Jan. 19 issue of The Beachcomber stated the Island will lose the services of the only public health nurse supporting maternity services.

It is amazing that we will loss this service, but the county and state have the ability to contribute $1.175 million for a new arts center on the Island, or we can spend $30 million for a park that few people will ever use.

This is the type of spending logic that frustrates a lot of people and makes us hesitant to approve any kind of tax increases.
