Letter to the Editor: Encourage kids to save, too

I just opened a savings account at our new credit union. Their minimum deposit is only $5. Wouldn’t it be great if Island kids were encouraged to start a savings account and get into the habit of saving for a rainy day? (OK, maybe for a sunny day.) This could become a habit that would serve us all well.
