We endorse Candy McCullough for Vashon Island Fire & Rescue commissioner. She has had 26 years experience as a Vashon firefighter/EMT and 11 years as a firefighter with the Boeing Fire Department.

Her leadership ability is evident by the fact that she is currently serving as an interim fire commissioner, and she has been a volunteer fire captain and a Boeing fire lieutenant. Thus, she understands the dynamics and potential for volunteer-career emergency service. It is the basis of our system.

In addition, she believes in quick emergency fire aid response to all parts of Vashon-Maury Island.
