LETTER: Vashon’s push for better schools is based on arrogance

For all the money spent on schools: What have we learned? The problems we face these days are bigger than ever. There’s no shortage of lawyers, accountants and tax codes. What ever happened to common sense? Who knows how to pave a highway?

Vashon’s push to have the best schools in the state, is a display of arrogance only my wife Joni can equal. Joni loves growth.

15 years ago a few growth-happy business people decided to get more money to move here. They certainly did. The money coming to Vashon makes a few people rich while the rest of us have to pay. The super school makes an excellent tool for such growth. If you’re concerned at all about future affordability: “Your no” vote is critical.

Thanks to the schooling unions and beautiful people like my Joni, the levy rules have changed: Now it takes 50%. Don’t be lame. Get your vote in the mail.
