Island artist Bruce Morser’s installation, “Honoring Center: At the Intersection of Art and History,” will be unveiled in the lobby of the Kay White Hall during a ceremony from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Drawn on wood panels with images printed on Plexiglas, Morser’s interactive piece illuminates the ever-changing history of Center, from post-Pleistocene to present day.
Following the unveiling, Morser and island historian Bruce Haulman will give a presentation about the interweaving of Center’s past with the challenges of capturing that history in a piece of art.
The project was sponsored by island art patrons Tracey and Janet Bishop.
