Choral masterworks sung by new chamber choir

Emerald Ensemble, Seattle’s newest professional chamber choir, will perform their second concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Kay White Hall.

Gary Cannon, best known to islanders as the artistic director of the Vashon Island Chorale, conducts the Emerald Ensemble, which is comprised of 24 well-recognized Northwest singers, including several familiar to Vashon Opera audiences. The ensemble will perform music from early 20th-century England, including masterworks by Arnold Bax, William Walton, Michael Tippett, Benjamin Britten, Ralph Vaughan Williams and others.
