First Friday gallery cruise offers art of all shapes, sizes and mediums

Most galleries and art spots are open from 6 to 9 p.m

Café Luna will show Seattle artist Sue Hardy’s intaglio prints made from copper plate etchings. Each print illuminates letters of the alphabet with flowers, birds and other symbolic images.

Hastings-Cone and Granny’s Attic will hold their collaborative show and sale of artwork donated to Granny’s, “3rd Annual Granny’s in the Gallery.” Over 50 pieces of art will be offered including paintings, watercolors, lithographs and a vintage Coca-Cola sign, signed lithographs by J. Tanaka, oil paintings by Rita Engelhard and a watercolor by Seattle Times illustrator Parker McAllister.

Raven’s Nest will show a variety of gifts and miniature framed art from Northwest Coast Native Artists Israel Shotridge, Allie High, Marvin Oliver and Andy Everson.

Spoke will show Michael Elenko’s “Standing Meditation,” a collection of photographs mounted on wood.

VALISE Gallery will hold its popular, annual 5” x 5” show, offering small, affordable artwork by island artists.

VCA’s Koch Gallery will show Seattle-based Steve Jensen’s work which, for the past 35 years, has explored themes of water, fluidity and voyage. The artist will give a talk about his work at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the gallery.

Vashon Senior Center will exhibit Marcia McKinzie’s watercolor batik paintings on rice paper. McKinzie began making art only after her retirement and will answer questions at a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. at the senior center on Bank Road.
