Just two days before Open Space for Arts &Community will begin major renovations, the organization will hold its Big O — O Yes! Gala Auction. The event will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Open Space Grand Hall.

Entertainers will include Kevin Kent of Teatro Zinzanni fame. An original Zinzanni cast member, Kent is noted for creating outrageous characters, including Cookie, Mabel Dean, the Queen of Hearts, Manfred and Clifton Caswell. He is credited with pioneering the art of selecting the ideal “victim” from the audience, now a hallmark of Teatro Zinzanni performances. Auctioneer Laura Michalek will preside over the silent and live auctions. Dinner and libations will be served.

Open Space’s renovations will include more classrooms, heat, a large atrium and Vashon’s first black box theater.

Tickets are available at The cost is $50 per person.
