Grammy award-winning chantuese performs at Open Space

For one night only, chanteuse superstar Lady Rizo will deliver a deeply personal musical eulogy about America with her trademark humor, wit and soaring voice in her show, “RED, WHITE &INDIGO; My love-hate relationship with America” at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at Open Space for Arts &Community.

In light of the current unsettled state of the country, Rizo asks, “America is a very bad boyfriend; so why do I still love him?” Together with her back up trio, which includes acclaimed cellist, guitarist and composer Yair Evnine, Lady Rizo will give voice to her reflections.

Lady Rizo won her first Grammy in 2010 on a duet with acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma. She sings and records with multi-platinum recording artist Moby and has garnered a cult fan base around the world. The New York Times describes Lady Rizo as “Sensational … a fierce but kindhearted fusion of comedy, burlesque, performance art and rock ‘n’ roll.”
