Island artist wins WNWA award

Island artist Ilse Reimnitz recently received the “Excellence in Figurative Art” award from the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) for her monotype print “Penumbra.”

The NAWA juried exhibit, “Coast to Coast — East,” is currently on display at the Prince Street Gallery in New York City and includes “Penumbra.”

Reimnitz is a member of the Northwest Watercolor Society and Women Painters of Washington.

She paints watercolors and prints monotypes in her island studio and shows with her husband Hartmut, an oil painter, and son Gunter, a sculptor, during the Island Artist Studio Tour. She also teaches watercolor and monotype workshops in her studio.
