Islander’s documentary returns to Vashon Theatre

“Big Joy: The Adventures of James Broughton,” a documentary by islander Stephen Silha, will be shown at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Vashon Theatre.

James Broughton was a poet, filmmaker and spiritual visionary who coined the phrase “Follow your weird,” meaning “being true to yourself, on your creative edge.”

This will be the second showing of “Big Joy,” which opened at Vashon Theatre in 2014, and will be the final film in the mini film festival “Twist Tops,” which offers the best films from Twist: Seattle Queer Film Festival.

Tickets will be sold at the door.
