Vashon Center for the Arts and Zero Waste Vashon will co-sponsor a talk by MacArthur Fellow and geologist David Montgomery and biologist Anne Biklé, authors of “The Hidden Half of Nature: The Microbial Roots of Life and Health,” at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Kay White Hall.

Through personal experiences, Montgomery and Biklé discovered startling similarities between plant roots and the human gut, identifying the tangled relationship with microbes and their potential to revolutionize agriculture and medicine.

Tickets are available at vashoncenterforthearts.org, VCA and Heron’s Nest Gallery.
