A new island gallery is opening this month, beginning with its participation in the First Friday art walk this Friday, May 4, and the Vashon Island Visual Artists Studio Tour on Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 5.
The Judd Creek Ranch Gallery will feature work focused on architecture and Japanese culture, said gallery owner Connie Conroy.
“I hope to encourage younger artists who are exploring these subjects, whatever their medium, to talk to us about sharing their work in both established and unexplored ways,” Conroy said.
She added that she hopes to engage island artists and students in exploring architecture and culture, possibly through a visiting artist’s program in the future.
Judd Creek Ranch Gallery will be open this summer from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
