New lecture in ‘From Science to Spirit” series

Last December, island healthcare informatics company Nura Health SPC launched a new series of lectures called “From Science to Spirit to ONE” to explore “the journey from Western science to spiritual vitality.”

The next talk in the series will be by Jacob Liberman Ph.D. on his book, “Luminous Life, How the Science of Light Unlocks the Art of Living,” at 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Vashon High School theater.

A pioneer in the fields of light, vision and consciousness, Liberman is also the author of “Light: Medicine of the Future” and “Take off your Glasses and See: A Mind-Body Approach.” Trained as an optometrist and vision scientist, Liberman has developed numerous light and vision therapy instruments, including the first FDA-cleared medical device designed to improve visual performance.

During the presentation and book signing, Liberman will discuss how to live a luminous life.

“We are all aware of light’s impact on the growth and development of plants. However, few of us realize that a plant actually “sees” where light is emanating from and positions itself to be in optimal alignment with it. This example of how a plant responds to light is not limited to the plant kingdom. Humans are also directed by light — the same light that spiritual traditions refer to as God and physicists describe as the essential field energy underlying all creation. This animating force that guides plants, tides and seasons also directs our lives. Dr. Jacob Liberman will reveal how the luminous intelligence we call light effortlessly guides us toward health, contentment,” a recent Nura Health press release stated.

According to the first presenter in the series, Bruce Lipton Ph.D., Liberman’s book is “a brilliant synthesis of modern science and philosophical wisdom. (He) has managed to unravel the secrets of light and offer them to the world as a source of profound transformation and healing.”

Spiritual author Eckhart Tolle said of Liberman’s new book: “Behind the disguise of brevity and simplicity lie pearls of distilled spiritual truths — truths to be cherished, to be shared and, above all, to be lived.”

Tickets, $15 before Sunday and $20 at the door, are available at the Vashon Bookshop and nurahealth.tix.com.
