Poetry Well for February

The Poetry Well is a monthly column that showcases island poetry. This month includes a poem by Annie Brulé.

Make Everything An Offering

River flows

With a depthless booming

Underneath the cascade crash.

What can we do

in the presence of greatness?

Throw ourselves prostrate,

Touch the earth,

Try not to offend the gods here,

Who are always ready to be known.

They have been waiting so long

For the sacrifice

That only you can make.
