Popular bands plays at Red Bike

The Van Redeker Band will bring its dynamic interpretations of songs by some of music’s greatest songwriters to the Red Bike at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Well known and well loved, the band — with Daryl Redeker, Sara and Sam Van Fleet — gets folks up on the dance floor with its infectious renditions of songs by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder and Bob Dylan, as well as groove-infused originals by veteran songwriter Redeker.

The Van Redeker band formed several years ago, with Redeker on lead guitar and vocals, Sara on bass guitar and vocals and Sam on guitar, keyboard and vocals.

The band made its debut appearance in 2015 at the “Hits of the Sixties” showcase at the Red Bike, where the group played a rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Pledging My Time.”

Since then, the band has played at a variety of venues around the island — the Blue Heron, Vashon Center for the Arts, Havurat Ee Shalom and other spots.

The free show is open to all ages until 11 p.m., then ages 21 and older only after that.
