Portland singer-songwriter returns to the Roasterie

Portland singer-songwriter John Craigie will return to the Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie. Vashon at 8 p.m. Friday. Presented by Debra Heesch, Craigie will be accompanied by acoustic sets from Loren Sinner and Emmett Sherman.

Known for his passion of connecting with people through sharing his music, stories and experiences, Craigie is somewhat of a troubadour, traveling all 50 states and throughout Europe. He plays solo and with musician Todd Snider, the Shook Twins, Nicki Bluhm and ALO.

“If John Prine and Mitch Hedberg had a baby, the resulting product would resemble something very close to John Craigie,” Heesch said. “Musically comparable to Prine, with the humor and wit of Hedberg, the humble, gracious, and hilarious Craigie is one of the best storytellers of our time. It’s no wonder Chuck Norris sends him fan mail, and Todd Snider brings him gifts.”

Tickets are $15 and sold at Vashon Bookshop or at BrownPaperTickets.com. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to Voice of Vashon.
