Step out for Friday’s summer gallery cruise

Most galleries and art spots are open from 6 to 9 p.m.

Café Luna will exhibit multimedia work by Bernadette La Carte, a visual storyteller, in a show called “I Spy.”

Hastings-Cone Gallery will show “Continuous Chautauqua,” an exhibit of design, art, poetry, stories and other creative elements from the organizers of the 2017 Chautauqua Assembly, called “an afternoon of living history,” on Sunday, July 9, in Ellisport.

Hinge Gallery will show paintings by Jayne Norton and have live music by Sarah Christine.

Island Paper Chase will show “Migration is Beautiful,” artwork by Alice Larson that features 1,000 origami butterflies, symbolizing movement of immigrants across our borders as a message for Independence Day.

Raven’s Nest Gallery will show Northwest Coast Native-designed wearable art, with a fashion show at 8 p.m. Friday.

Allen Nakano will show color pencil drawings in “Scenes from Croatia” at Sporty’s Restaurant.

The Hardware Store Restaurant will exhibit 75 photographs by Ray Pfortner’s 23 students form VCA’s juried Shoot to Show and McMurray’s Photography Exploratory class.

An upcoming outdoor exhibit of oversized sculptures, “The Kinetic Arts Sculpture Garden,” will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at Open Space for Arts & Community, with artwork by Cathy McClure, Bernadette LaCarte, Leslie Lenz, Monica Gripman and Julia Anderson.
