UMO performs Resistance Café fundraiser

UMO invites islanders to an evening of resistance during the ensemble’s “Resistance Café,” a one-night-only event with entertainment and food at 6 p.m. Sunday at The Hardware Store Restaurant.

Inspired by the Seattle Women’s March in January, UMO began asking what resistance looks like, how to resist and what is irresistible? From those questions, the ensemble has created new characters and new physical-theater works.

The heartthrob band, The Love Markets, will join UMO along with surprise guest artists and advanced students from the UMO School of Physical Arts.

The event is one of the ensemble’s major fundraisers. While tickets will cover the imaginative performances and music, dinner and drinks may be purchased separately.

Seating is limited, so buying tickets early is advised. Tickets are $20 per person and available at Vashon Bookshop and umoresistance.brownpapertickets.com.
