VCA begins exec search

Vashon Center for the Arts is Looking for an Executive Director to help lead the acclaimed 50-year-old arts organization into the next chapter of its growth.

“We have accomplished so much over these past years,” says Denise Katz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, “Capped off with the opening of our amazing new visual and performing arts center and the recent recognition by the Governor of the State of Washington. With the imminent retirement of our long time Executive Director Molly Reed we are launching a search starting in January for a new Executive Director to help take our organization into the future we’ve been dreaming of.”

Because of the importance and prominence of the position, Vashon Center for the Arts (VCA) has retained the services of LuAnn Carlson, Senior Partner at recruiting and consulting firm Corporate Strategies and Development, LLC.

Ms. Carlson has over 25 years of executive search experience and over the past decade she has had a focus on not-for-profit and especially arts organizations.

Ms. Carlson has been working closely with the board and staff to design the position description to match the needs of VCA and the community. VCA expects that the position will be posted publically the first week of January and that the search will be concluded by the end of the first quarter.
