Vashon resident Christie True was recently confirmed as the new director of King County’s Department of Natural Resources and Parks (DNRP).

True, who previously led DNRP’s Wastewater Treatment Division, was confirmed by the King County Council Thursday after being appointed by County Executive Dow Constantine in July.

In the position, True will oversee DNRP’s four major divisions: Parks and Recreation, Solid Waste, Wastewater Treatment and Water and Land Resources. DNRP is the second-largest county agency.
