David Moseley, the director of the state ferry system, and other top officials will visit Vashon on Thursday, Dec. 9, where they are expected to discuss proposed service cuts that will affect Vashon.

The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at Vashon High School.

Vashon’s ferry-service advocates say the proposed cuts, contained in Gov. Chris Gregoire’s proposed budget, could have a profound impact on the Island.

“We’re hoping people will fill the room,” said Islander Kari Ulatoski. “We need people to show the governor that this is really going to affect the Island.”
