County assessor Lloyd Hara will be at the Vashon Library from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, to discuss the county’s most recent property assessments as well as two programs that offer help to those who can’t afford their property taxes.

The visit, arranged by Vashon activist Hilary Emmer, will include information about a program that offers residents a deferral in their property taxes and another that offers exemptions. Both are for those who are income eligible.

Emmer says she’ll help those who decide to apply fill out the paperwork.
