Vashon’s school board voted unanimously last week to demolish Building A, the high school’s main classroom and administrative structure.

The vote came after a discovery by the district’s contractor that it would cost less to demolish it than to remodel it. Some had asked the district to hold off on the decision so they could explore other uses for the building. The board, however, said a delay would trigger additional costs.
