North-end ferry service returns to three boats on Tuesday

May 21, 2012 · Updated 4:04 PM

The state ferry system's triangle route, serving Vashon, Southworth and Fauntleroy, will return to a three-boat service Tuesday morning, one day ahead of schedule.

Washington State Ferries had reduced the service to two boats for Monday and Tuesday, while the Tillikum was out of service for repairs and maintenance.

But the inspection of the Tillikum was completed earlier than anticipated, WSF spokesoman Marta Coursey said, and the vessel will return to the Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route at the beginning of the day on Tuesday, restoring the normal three-boat service.
