Michael Tomlinson, a singer, songwriter and recording artist with 12 albums to his name, will play a show at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Blue Heron Arts Center.

A Texas native, Tomlinson has lived in the Seattle area for 25 years, but he rarely performs locally. His most recent album, “The Way Out West,” highlights his love of the natural world and how it reminds him that life is well worth the trouble. His Vashon concert, which he’s dubbed “Seeds of Love,” will focus on an evening of old and new songs, stories and laughter.

Tickets, $17 and $20, are available at the Blue Heron, the Heron’s Nest, Vashon Bookshop and www.brownpapertickets.com or by calling 463-5131. Sample Tomlinson’s music at www.michaeltomlinson.com.
