Three-boat schedule back in effect
April 26, 2008 · Updated 2:26 AM
The Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route and the Seattle/Bremerton route returned to normal service on Tuesday morning, two weeks earlier than expected, Washington State Ferries (WSF) officials announced Monday.
The 124-car Chelan, which went into drydock at Todd Shipyard on Jan. 14, was completed ahead of schedule and returned to the Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route on Tuesday morning, allowing the so-called triangle route to return to its normal three-boat schedule.
With the return of the Chelan, the 124-car Kitsap on temporary loan to the triangle route went back to its regular assignment on to the Seattle/Bremerton route, and the 87-car Tillikum returned to the Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route as the third boat.
Susan Harris-Huether, WSFs customer information manager, said the ferry system is pleased to have the two routes back to their normal winter schedules.
Were very appreciative of the patience of our customers, she added. I know this has been a horrendous inconvenience to our customers on Vashon and at Southworth.
