Runners tackle the length of Vashon
October 3, 2012 · 10:03 AM
On Saturday 20 students and 28 community members showed for the annual Dock-to-Dock fun run, which challenges athletes to run the length of the Island, or as far as they can, as a fundraiser for the VHS cross-country team.
This year’s turnout was greater than last year’s, and many finished the 13.5-mile distance from Tahlequah to the north-end dock.
Members of the high school and middle school cross-country teams ran a combined total of 161.3 miles, with Kanit Jungsakulrujire, Nathan Williams, Olin Nespor, Harper Whitney, Ezra Allredge, Abe Vanselow and Jeffrey Parrish completing the entire distance. Fifteen community members also ran the whole distance.
