Parent searches for leads on hit and run accident

October 16, 2012 · 10:14 AM

A Vashon woman is looking for information about a driver who hit her teenage daughter in Vashon town, then fled the scene Saturday evening.

Lynann Politte said her 14-year-old daughter was riding her bicycle past Pandora’s Box when a vehicle pulled out of the parking lot and hit her. The driver yelled out the window that the girl, who was heading north, was on the wrong side of the street, Politte said. He didn’t stop.

Her daughter was able to keep herself from falling but was badly bruised in the incident, Politte said. She went to the Vashon Health Center on Monday and is now on crutches.

Politte said her daughter believes the car that hit her was a gray SUV, but she’s not certain. A woman with reddish-colored hair helped, placing ice and a bandage on her leg. Those with information should email Politte at lynann@yonispeaks.com.
