Vashon’s branch library will close Sunday, Feb. 3, and reopen at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at its new temporary location at Vashon Plaza.
The library will not have its book-drop service in place until it reopens at its new location, according to Jan Riley, operations supervisor for the Vashon branch. No fines, she added, will accrue that week.
The branch is moving to to the former NAPA auto parts store on the southern end of Vashon Plaza for 12 to 18 months while the existing branch undergoes a major remodel and expansion. The temporary digs, while smaller, will include the same number of books and computer stations.
Most library programs, however, will take place elsewhere. Watch The Beachcomber’s calendar and the library’s bulletin board for locations for the library’s programs.
