Two meetings are planned for Vashon Island in July to discuss sea level rise and the King County Comprehensive Plan.

Sea Level Rise on Vashon-Maury Island

Tuesday, July 2, 6-8 p.m.

McMurray Middle School, 9329 SW Cemetery Road

Join our team of scientists, ecologists, and stewards for a discussion about sea level rise and:

  • increasing bluff setbacks,
  • protecting wellheads,
  • home elevation and related regulations, and
  • managing bulkheads.

Comprehensive Plan Update Community Meeting

Thursday, July 18 – 6-8 p.m.

Vashon High School, 9600 SW 204th Street

Learn about proposed changes to the King County Comprehensive Plan:

  • development regulations,
  • sea level rise regulations,
  • shoreline environment designations, and
  • marijuana producing and processing restrictions.

Public comment on the Comprehensive Plan welcome!

A draft of the proposed amendments to the King County Comprehensive Plan will be released on July 1, 2019.
