A small fire with heavy smoke broke out in downtown Vashon at lunchtime today.
Vashon Island Fire & Rescue responded to the call and put out the fire. Captain Brodie Smith said the fire started in the smoker at La Boucherie, next to Casa Bonita, and moved to the eaves of the refrigeration unit.
“It looked a lot about bigger than it really was,” he added. “Everybody sat in there and ate their lunch and watched us.”
Water becomes especially precious during emergencies.
