Gene was born in Seattle on 5/26/1919 to island pioneer Captain Francis M. Sherman and Julia Hanson Sherman of Vashon.

Gene was a lifelong islander and extremely proud of his island heritage. Gene’s father and grandfather came to Vashon in November of 1877 and settled on the shores of Quartermaster Harbor. Gene’s home is on part of the family homestead.

There will be a “Celebration of life” for Gene at The Vashon Sportsman’s Club on 12/15/18 at 2PM.
