A CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR REV. JOHN ERICKSEN TO BE HELD AT VASHON CENTER FOR THE ARTS SUNDAY, JULY 10, 2016, AT 3:00 PM

The Reverend John Mark Ericksen, retired, died peacefully Tuesday, June 28th, age 68, following more than thirteen years battling Alzheimer’s and a recurrence of lymphoma. Born in 1947 in Sedro Woolley, John came from a long Lutheran heritage. He graduated from Pacific Lutheran University and received his M.Div. from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley in 1978. John was ordained on January 7, 1979 as a pastor in the American Lutheran Church.

Pastor Ericksen served as Associate and Senior Pastor of Central Lutheran in Anchorage, Alaska (1979-1984) (American Lutheran Church) and as Pastor at Lake Chelan Lutheran (1984-1988), Vashon Lutheran (1988-2002), and Prince of Peace Lutheran, Everett (2002-2006) (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).

John is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marita Ericksen of Vashon, Washington; daughter Elise; and one grandchild, Frank.
