Born September 18th, 1943, in Hepner, Oregon, Died March 24th, 2016, on Vashon Island. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mildred Denend of Bremerton, Washington.  Surviving family members include his brother Gary Denend of Belfair, Washington and children Amanda Denend and Richey Denend of San Jacinto, California. Tom graduated from Central Kitsap High School in Silverdale, Washington.  He then joined the Army National Guard which brought him to the Old Nike Missile Site on Vashon Island in 1964. Tom spent most of his remaining life living on Vashon wearing many different hats over the years. He spent time with the King County Sherriff’s Department, as an employee of Exotic Metals, as a realtor, and even as a restaurant owner. He was always very involved in the community and with the Vashon Golf and Swim Club.

There will be a Graveside Service on Sunday, April 24th, at 1:00 p.m. with Military Honors at the Vashon Cemetery followed by a Celebration of his Life at 2:00 p.m. at the Vashon Eagles Club.
