Side of the road is not the place for castoffs

Debbie Butler complained about missing pieces that were taken from a disassembled bunk bed left on the side of the road. Her letter stated, “This was a rude act. … One mean move, and careful stewardship is shot full of holes.” (“Free materials on the road side needed to stay together,” Aug. 1)

In what universe does “careful stewardship” entail leaving unwanted stuff on the side of the road? Please, people, use the Vashon-centric Facebook pages or a recycler ad in The Beachcomber to unload items you want to give away. It’s unsightly to use our roads for this purpose.
