Pirates lose to Chelan Goats at state basketball tournament

The Vashon boys basketball team fell to the Chelan High School goats last night, 57-44, in quarterfinal state tournament play at the Yakima SunDome.

The loss ended the Pirates' bid at the state championship.

Alex Wegner led the Pirate scoring with 23 points. Hamzah Griffin scored eight, Ben Whitaker landed seven, Kyle Bakker scored four and Dan Lofland went for two.
